Wk05 Animated Title Screen

He is my animated title screen, hope you like it. I just moved the space ship from the background to the foreground and had it come across the screen once you click either new game or continue.

Wk04 Mood Board Concept

Here is the mood board that I took from NBA2k13 which I may use to utilize some of the colors for the title screen and final mood board for my game concept.

Wk03 Game Pitch Final Phase

For my game pitch I wanted to focus on the character since it is basically the main component of the game. I am still deciding if I want to take an actual NBA to use for the game or just create some made up character to work with. It should be an easy decision once I put adequate thought to it, so I will give it some time before I make my final decision. Here is the image for the character portion of the game.

The next phase of the game I wanted to focus on was the environment. I like the idea of futuristic space worlds. I took some images from games like Earthworm Jim and Rayman because I feel they capture the overall idea that I am looking for. Heres a look at the images I put together.
The final portion of the game I decided to focus on were the power-ups for the players basketball. Its a simple concept of power-ups seen in many games before; fire power-up lets the player utilize a flaming basketball, ice power-up allows the player to use an ice basketball, etc. So here is the images for this portion just to get a general idea of where I can move forward with them.

Wk03 Game Design Concept Phase

For my game I am trying to do a side-scrolling platform game. My main character will be a basketball player who gets transported to another world and must find his way back home only using his basketball skills. I want to utilize power ups throughout the levels that allow the player to have different attacks using his basketball. Some examples of that are an ice basketball that freezes etc. I am lookinh to have him advance through the levels ultimately reaching a ship in order for him to return to Earth.

Wk02 Rock, Paper, Scissors Final

For my final project I chose to stick with my initial layout I preferred. I stayed true to the simplistic black and white colors and layout style. Visually I tried to experiment with shadows on the lower left graphic to add some depth into the empty space that was surrounding the image. With the top right image I just duplicated it to fill the space with something interesting. I took the feedback and kept my layout real simple and true to the simplistic essence of the game.

WK02 Rock, Paper, Scissors Concept Phase

This post will consist of the thumbnails I drew up for the Rock, Paper, Scissors concept required for our first project. Also included will be a few graphics that I researched and thought were pretty cool to add to the project.
To the left is an image of my ten thumbnail drawings for the project. I tried to keep them as simple as possible while still allowing the concepts of each drawing to come forth. I am not looking to do a real elaborate scheme thats why the only thumbnail that would be overly detailed is the one on the top right. I like the first two I drew and I'm strongly considering between them because of the balance that they have. I feel it visually appealing to flow from left to right and possibly start with an initial image before the actual writing and then contrast it below with writing and then another image and vice versa for the second thumbnail.

The images to the right are of the research that I did for a logos or pictures in my project. I tried to stick with a simple black and white image because I like the way they look together. I like the ones that portray the actual rules of the game where paper beats rock, rock beats scissors, and scissors beats paper. With that being said I am leaning towards the top left and bottom right images. But my decision is not set in stone so I can always choose one of the others if I feel the need to. I am looking forward to the constructive criticism so I can come to a solid conclusion to help me finish this project successfully.
